THE FOUNDER'S SPEECH

Barong Kekung-Asu

Barong kekung-Asu, the founder of the Barong Wellness foundation . Is also a person living with diabetes. For years, she struggled to manage her condition, because she didn't know how. Having little to no knowledge of diabetes, and even less access to good healthcare. She felt alone, scared, and unsure of what the future held. But as she began to navigate this journey, she realized that she was not alone, there were millions of people around the world living with diabetes, facing the same challenges and fears that she did. Which is why she started this organization to create a community where people living with diabetes could come together, share their experiences, and support one another. She wanted to provide access to education, resources, and healthcare, so that no one would have to face this journey alone. Our mission is to empower communities affected by diabetes, through education, advocacy, and support. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their background or financial situation. Barong kekungAsu-Asu is inviting you to join us on this journey. Let's work together to create a world where people living with diabetes can thrive.

Mission & Vision

The mission of our foundation is to empower communities by promoting awareness, understanding, and management of diabetes mellitus. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone has access to accurate medical information, resources, and support. Through education, innovative research, and clinical care. We aim to inspire hope, contribute to health and wellbeing, and provide channels for exceptional patient care

Barong Wellness Foundation was formally incorporated and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2022, marking the beginning of our commitment to creating a healthier Nigeria. Our journey began with a shared vision to promote health, wellness, and disease prevention, driven by a dedicated Board of Trustees. In our inaugural year, we successfully executed several projects, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteer team. Their selflessness and expertise helped us lay a solid foundation for our future endeavors. By the end of 2022, numerous individuals had devoted their time and energy to our cause, demonstrating the power of collective action. As we continue to grow, we're proud to announce our partnership with the Diabetes Association of Nigeria (DAN). This collaboration enables us to expand our reach, expertise, and impact, ultimately benefiting more Nigerians. Today, we remain steadfast in our mission to promote wellness, support disease prevention, and improve healthcare outcomes. We're grateful for the trust and support of our volunteers, partners, and the community we serve. With a strong foundation in place, we're poised to make a lasting difference in the lives of Nigerians.
